Notice on the Launch of Online Application and Appointment for Chinese Visa

In order to provide Chinese Visa applicants with standard and quality services, the Chinese Embassy in OMAN will start to use online visa application and appointment system from 1stAugust 2020.The specific arrangements are as follows:

1. From 1stAugust 2020,Visa applicants are required to log on https://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn and fill in the visa application form online,after completing the electronic form you can enter the visa appointment interface directly through the link of “go to schedule an appointment”or you can afterwards log on https://avas.cs.mfa.gov.cn and enter your personal information or application number to make an appointment for your visa application. Applicants are required to submit passports and other required documents to the Consular Section of the Embassy with the printed complete application form and signed confirmation page at the time and date of the appointment.

2. From 1stAugust 2020 to 31stAugust 2020, the applicants can still submit the old version paper application forms without online appointment but from 1st September 2020,the Chinese Embassy in OMAN will no longer accept the old version paper application forms and visa applications without online appointment. All the applicants must use the online application and appointment system.

3. Exceptions to the above arrangements:

ⅠThe diplomatic and official passport holders do not need to make an appointment but have to fill in and print out the complete online application forms according to the above-mentioned requirements. These applicants can directly submit applications to the Chinese Embassy in OMAN.

ⅡThe visa application for Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions of China will remain the same and there is no need for online application and appointment. During the COVID-19 period, the applicants are advised to visit the official websites of Immigration Department of Hong Kong SAR(https://www.immd.gov.hk/) and Public Security Police Force of Macao SAR(https://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/cht/main.html) to check the latest visa policies.

4. The Chinese Embassy in OMAN would like to remind again that during the COVID-19 period, the Embassy only accepts visa applications for necessary trade, sci-tech activities as well as urgent humanitarian needs.
