Distinguished friends from various sectors in the Sultanate of Oman,
My fellow Chinese compatriots,
It is my great honor to be appointed by Chinese President Xi Jinping to serve as the 12th Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Sultanate of Oman and set foot on this peaceful, harmonious, and prosperous land. I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all those who have long supported and contributed to the development of China-Oman relations.
China and Oman are both ancient civilizations with rich and enduring cultural heritages. The friendship between our two nations dates back over a thousand years, beginning with amicable exchanges through the Maritime Silk Road. This shared history has fostered mutual understanding and inspiration, creating a legacy of collaboration and learning.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1978, China and Oman have always respected each other’s core interests and concerns, actively engaged in mutually beneficial cooperation, and achieved significant progress in various fields. In 2018, the diplomatic ties between the two countries were elevated to a strategic partnership. In recent years, under the strategic guidance of Chinese president Xi Jinping and HM Sultan Haitham, political trust between China and Oman has strengthened, cooperation has flourished, and traditional friendship has deeply rooted in the hearts of our people.
At present, China is embarking on a new journey of further deepening comprehensive reform to advance Chinese Modernization, while Oman is implementing Vision 2040 to achieve national advancement. At this pivotal moment, China-Oman relations stand at a new starting point, presenting fresh opportunities. As I take on this important mission in Oman, I feel deeply honored and acutely aware of the great responsibility entrusted to me. I will dedicate myself fully to my duties, working closely with all sectors in Oman to align the Belt and Road Initiative with Oman’s Vision 2040. And I will make unremitting efforts to strengthen political trust, deepen practical cooperation, and foster people-to-people bonds between our nations.
The Chinese Embassy in Oman will, as always, continue to serve our compatriots with utmost dedication, offering unwavering support to overseas Chinese communities. Let us work together to elevate the China-Oman strategic partnership with renewed vitality in this era and write a new chapter of friendship between our two nations.
