The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Oman hosted a reception to celebrate the 98th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army(PLA) and commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War on Monday, July 21st, 2025. The event was attended by approximately 200 guests, including Ambassador Lyu Jian and all the embassy staff, representative of the Omani military, Commodore Abdullah, Director General of Naval Operations and Planning, along with 24 other representatives from the Ministry of Defense and Sultan of Oman’s Armed Forces, officials from the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Labor, and Ministry of Energy and Minerals, military attachés from various countries in Oman, as well as representatives from overseas Chinese enterprises and institutions and Chinese community in Oman.

Defense Attaché Wu Xinyan stated in his address that, under the wise leadership and strategic guidance of the two heads of state, rooted in mutual respect, understanding, and common development, the bilateral strategic and friendly relations have become a model of friendly and cooperative bilateral relations in the region. Bilateral military relations are an important part of the strategic relationship between the two countries, and military friendly cooperation in various fields has continued to strengthen in recent years. Today, we are also gathered here to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of Taiwan’s recovery from Japanese occupation. China will unswervingly pursue the path of peaceful development and inject positive energy into world peace and development.

The reception was marked by a warm and friendly atmosphere. A photo exhibition titled “Safeguarding World Peace for a Shared Destiny: A Force for World Peace” was displayed, along with screenings of short videos honoring the PLA, including “The Guardians” and “I am a Chinese soldier”.  Guests extended their warm congratulations on the 98th anniversary of the founding of the PLA, highly praised China’s development achievements, and commended the positive contributions made by the PLA to maintain world peace.
