On May 10, 2026, the Embassy of China in Oman hosted a media symposium themed "Resolving Disputes Through Political and Diplomatic Means."

Ambassador Lyu Jian highlighted Chinese President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal on promoting peace and stability in the Middle East in his address, and elaborated the vision of a community with a shared future for humanity and the Four Global Initiatives. Regarding the regional situation, Ambassador Lyu stressed that only by adhering to resolving disputes through political and diplomatic means can the region achieve lasting peace. China and Oman should continuously improve their bilateral cooperation under the guidance of building a China-Arab community with a shared future in the new era. Ambassador Lyu also elaborated on China's solemn position on the Taiwan question.

The guests stated that President Xi Jinping's four global initiatives help guide the world out of war and conflict. The four-point proposal is very important, and we look forward to China playing a greater role. The Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair, and Oman firmly adheres to the one-China principle and opposes the manipulation of the Taiwan question by individual countries for political purposes.
