Omani Minister of Higher Education, Research,and Innovation Meets with Chinese Enterprises in Oman

H.E. Prof. Dr. Rahma bint Ibrahim Al-Mahrooqi, Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation of the Sultanate of Oman, hosted a symposium on November 5, 2025,with some- representatives of Chinese funded enterprises operating in Oman, highlighting the strong and growing partnership between China and Oman in higher education,scientific research, and innovation.

The event brought together leading Chinese enterprises, including China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), State Grid Corporation of China, Huawei Tech.Investment LLC,BGP Oil & Gas Services, Greatwall Drilling Company (GWDC), and FiberHome International Technologies Co., Ltd.,along with Ms. Xie Zhongmei,Counselor at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Oman.

During the symposium, H.E. Prof. Dr. Al-Mahrooqi reviewed presentations on ongoing collaborations with Omani partners in higher education, research, and innovation. She commended the contributions of Chinese enterprises to Oman's socio-economic development and encouraged further practical cooperation leveraging their expertise and experience.

The Minister also stressed the importance of expanding internship and employment opportunities for Omani graduates, deepening joint talent development programs with Omani universities, and fostering lasting friendship and collaboration between the two countries.

The Chinese enterprises reaffirmed their commitment to advancing cooperation in higher education, research, innovation, and industry. They highlighted the value of nurturing talent in both countries and the wider region,expressed readiness to explore further collaborative initiatives, and reaffirmed their dedication to integrating industry, academia, and research under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. The enterprises also emphasized their commitment to achieving mutually beneficial outcomes that contribute to the sustained growth of China-Oman bilateral relations.
