On December 19, 2025, Ambassador Lyu Jian attended the "Amazing China" cultural exchange event jointly organized by BGP of CNPC and China-Arab TV in Muscat, Oman. The event was attended by approximately 150 participants, including Tian Jianhui, Manager of BGP’s Oman Project Department, Ge Jia, Executive Director of China-Arab TV, as well as representatives of teachers, students, and parents from four Omani high schools offering Chinese courses, along with overseas Chinese, Chinese nationals, and representatives of Chinese enterprises in Oman.
Ambassador Lyu Jian delivered a speech, stating that China is one of the four cradles of human civilization, with a long-standing, extensive, and profound culture. President Xi Jinping pointed out that the Chinese civilization is characterized by continuity, innovation, unity, inclusiveness and peace. Civilizations have become richer and more colorful with exchanges and mutual learning. The Chinese culture emphasizes family, advocates peace, values etiquette and righteousness, and cherishes traditions—qualities that align closely with the noble values of Omani society. This affinity of hearts serves as the spiritual bond that has fostered the millennial friendship between our two ancient peoples.
Ambassador Lyu Jian offered words of encouragement to the Omani students learning Chinese, stating, "You are pioneers in Chinese language learning in Oman and an important bridge connecting the future of our two countries. What you have chosen is not just a language, but a path in life that will bring you boundless opportunities. Your efforts today will not only pave the way for those who follow but also accumulate strength for the future of China-Oman friendship. We look forward to more schools in Oman offering Chinese courses in the future, helping more young people have the opportunity to learn Chinese and open a window to understand Chinese culture."
Ambassador Lyu Jian stated that an increasing number of Omani friends are visiting China, where they see with their own eyes and experience firsthand a nation rich in historical and cultural heritage yet brimming with vitality. Their sincere observations and reflections demonstrate that Chinese modernization is not an abstract concept, but a development path deeply rooted in its cultural heritage—one that pursues the coordinated development of material and spiritual well-being, the harmonious coexistence of humanity and nature, and ultimately serves the people’s aspiration for a better life. China has always been willing to share its development experiences with countries around the world, including good friends like Oman, and to join hands in creating a future of peace and prosperity. He sincerely hopes that young learners will master Chinese language well and step closer to China, visit China often and gain a deeper understanding of the country. Let us join hands and work together to create an even brighter future for China-Oman relations
Ambassador Lyu Jian warmly interacted with Omani students learning Chinese. Students actively shared their experiences and insights from learning Chinese, along with their fondness and admiration for Chinese culture. They expressed their willingness to study Chinese diligently and help build closer ties between the two countries as cultural ambassadors. Ambassador Lyu Jian also gave a joint interview to media outlets including China-Arab TV, Oman’s Majan TV, and Oman’s Al-Shabiba newspaper.

During the event, overseas Chinese communities from the United Arab Emirates and Oman performed traditional Chinese cultural acts, including martial arts, dance, face-changing, erhu, and hulusi performances, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere on site.
